Five Prime Private Jet Destinations

XOJET reveals five destinations much easier to reach by private jet.

By Doug Gollan, April 22, 2017

While it may always be nicer to fly by private jet, some destinations are pretty hard if not impossible to get to if you don’t fly privately. Recently XOJET published its selection of five destinations its best to reach by private jet.

Anguilla

Known for its white-sand beaches, azure tropical waters, and unspoiled island culture, Anguilla answers the call for an authentic Caribbean getaway. It’s a five-star enclave, rich in five-star accommodations the likes of Four Seasons, Cap Juluca, Auberge’s Malliouhana, and countless private villas available for rent. But it’s also free of over-commercialization, preferring a laidback blend of natural beauty (think hiking and snorkeling), charming local villages, and a stellar culinary scene—be it five-star, family-owned establishments or clapboard shacks serving local favorites like crayfish and lobster.

Telluride, Colorado

Hidden in southwestern Colorado amongst the largest concentration of 13,000- and 14,000-foot peaks on the continent, Telluride’s nearest major airport, Montrose Regional, is 90 minutes away by car. Visitors who make the commute—or fly by private jet into Telluride Regional Airport, just six miles from the resort—are rewarded with no lift lines and 2,000 open acres of legendary skiing for every level and ability. What’s more, they’re never far from a beautiful view over the San Juan Mountains or the charming feel of downtown Telluride—home to quaint luxury boutiques, five-star dining, and elegant resorts like The Hotel Telluride or Hotel Madeline.

Spectacle Island, Maine

Perched off the coast of Bar Harbor in Frenchman’s Bay, this five-acre retreat is one of America’s favorite private island rentals and epitomizes the peaceful seclusion of New England’s rocky Atlantic coastline and surrounding Acadia Mountains. The island, with its lush growth and polished shores, is exclusively reserved for you—as is the rustic three-bedroom cabin, neighboring 6-person beachfront bunkhouse, and 16-foot sailboat. Hire a private chef and retreat to a coastal sanctuary wonderfully sheltered amidst the Maine wilderness.

Lanai, Hawaii

Lanai may be blossoming into a luxurious modern-day travel destination, but Hawaii’s smallest inhabited island is virtually unfazed by the advances of time. Charming plantation villages still remind of its small-town roots, as do the untamed beaches, crystal-clear waters, and majestic mountains that make it a paradise for serenity and relaxation. All that’s new is a collection of five-star resorts scattered along the coastline—including the Four Seasons on Hulopoe Bay—where visitors can spend their days snorkeling, golfing, meditating, hiking, or simply discovering the spirit of authentic Hawaii.

St. Moritz, Switzerland

Once there, visitors have a wealth of luxury resorts to choose from, including Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, Grand Hotel Kronenhof, Nira Alpina, Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains, Kulm Hotel St. Moritz, and Suvretta House. Combined with world-renowned fine dining and shopping, dreamy alpine scenery, and some of the best skiing in the world, let alone Europe, St. Moritz delivers on the legendary ski experience you’d expect to find at the heart of the Swiss Alps.
