By Doug Gollan, May 26, 2017

Unless you fly by private jet, chances are you wouldn’t know which airports are the busiest when it comes to private aviation. That’s because nine out of the 10 busiest airports when it comes to general aviation don’t have commercial airline flights.

According to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) statistics, Phoenix Deer Valley was the busiest private aviation airport followed by Denver’s Centennial Airport and Miami’s Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport. Nine of the busiest 12 airports are located in Arizona and California. Overall, private aviation uses over 5,000 airports in all 50 states. It means that in addition to flying nearer to your final destination, where weather and air traffic delays pop us, private jet users can often reroute to a nearby airport to avoid delays.
