NetJets Sets New Equestrian Partnerships

By Doug Gollan, January 4, 2018

The fractional share and jet card seller has long been a major sponsor of major athletes and sporting events

NetJets sponsors a multitude of high-end athletes and maintains sponsorships with the PGA, over 30 tour pro golfers, and even its hometown hockey team in Columbus, Ohio. Now the largest private jet operator in the world is going horses so to speak by adding the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) plus the Global Dressage Festival and the International Polo Club to its sponsorships.

Beginning January 10, and for the 12-week duration of the Winter Equestrian Festival, over 6,000 horses will participate in this annual event in Wellington, Florida. The Palm Beach International Equestrian Center will be filled with participants from 42 countries, from amateurs to top FEI-ranked, worldwide competitors. There will be 250,000 spectators, and riders in 70 unique divisions will compete for prize money exceeding $10 million dollars.

In a partnership of horse and rider, participants from two to 70 years old include Olympians, adult amateurs, juniors, and children from more than 42 countries. Each show week starts on Wednesday and concludes on Sunday, with major competitions showcased in the International Arena daily and on Saturday nights featuring jumping and dressage.
Further, on Dec. 31, at a polo match held at the International Polo Club season opener, NetJets participated in the coin toss in the opening game. Then on April 22, at the U.S. Open Final NetJets will feature a mock Citation Latitude aircraft on display, along with participating in the awards presentation.

In addition to selling fractional shares and leases, NetJets sells private jet cards both under the Marquis Jet banner and its own branded card introduced last year.
