NetJets promotes airport access to East Coast summer destinations, in-house staff of meteorologists

NetJets says it’s positioned to get you where you want to go safely, with as few weather delays as possible

Summer weather along the popular coastal resort of Long Island and New England can change quickly with fog and strong crosswinds. However, NetJets believes with its extensive fleet, top ranked safety standards and team of in-house meteorologists, it can make sure you get to you vacation safely with the time savings benefits of private jet travel.

Unpredictable weather

NetJets says, “The East Coast islands are extremely sought-after summer destinations and getting to them can sometimes be challenging. This is particularly the case on commercial and private charter flights, which can be overcrowded, infrequent, and subject to the unpredictable weather of the islands.”

With the world’s largest fleet of private jets ranging from light jets like the Phenom 300 to its ultra long-haul fleet of Bombardier’s Global Express, the IS-BAO Stage 3 operator says is able to monitor weather patterns matching aircraft to specific needs.

NetJets in-house team of meteorologists tracks weather that will impact customer flights and works with them to minimize disruptions, even moving up departures times when preferred.

Fractional share owners, lessees and jet card members can access different aircraft types via interchange fees. The entire NetJets fleet can fly into and out of the Martha’s Vineyard Airport (KMVY), Nantucket Memorial Airport (KACK), and West Hampton’s Francis S. Gabreski Airport (FOK). Its light and midsize private jets, as well as the super-midsize Bombardier Challenger 350, can fly into the East Hampton Airport (HTO).

Of course, fast-changing weather can often be a factor when flying to these summer hotspots. “Weather conditions around coastal islands can often be unpredictable, especially during the summer months when early morning fog and strong crosswinds are common,” NetJets says.

However, its in-house, full-time, FAA-approved meteorologists constantly monitor the weather around the airports of Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and the Hamptons.

During a recent visit to its operations center in Columbus, Ohio, executives said they also work with customers to change departures, sometimes offering options to move them up if needed, to avoid disruption. For shaky fliers, they work with them to propose departures that will ensure the smoothest flights possible.

NetJets jet card programs

NetJets sells jet cards in 25 and 50-hour blocks, and fractional ownership shares and leases starting at 50 hours per year with a minimum commitment of three years.  Its pilots undergo state-of-the-art multiday simulator training twice per year at Flight Safety.
