Jet Linx celebrates opening its New York terminal at Teterboro Airport

By Doug Gollan, September 27, 2019

Private jet operator Jet Linx has opened bases in Boston, Chicago, and Austin this year as it eyes California and South Florida

Jet Linx is open for business in New York. This week it celebrated the launch of its dedicated private terminal at Teterboro Airport with a live performance by singer-songwriter Alexa Ray Joel with hors d’oeuvres from Nobu.

The new location joins Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Ft. Worth, Houston, Indianapolis, Nashville, Omaha, San Antonio, Scottsdale, St Louis, Tulsa, and Washington D.C.

Jet Linx expansion

A future location in Minneapolis is already on tap, and CEO Jamie Walker has said the Omaha-based management company is looking towards both South Florida and California. Aviation International News recently reported a second St. Louis location is on the way. In March, Jet Linx passed the 100 million mile flight mark.

In addition to managing private jets for wealthy owners and companies – its fleet count recently reached 115 private jets – Jet Linx sells jet card memberships allowing buyers to use those aircraft when their owners don’t need them.

Jet card pricing

The program offers guaranteed availability with 48 hours notice, discounted roundtrip rates, and is pay-as-you-go, so after paying a membership fee, you pay on a trip by trip basis, so you don’t tie up capital.

The first-year fee is $12,500 or $17,500, with the higher price offering peak day flights without a surcharge. Renewal is $3,500 per year. The company says it has over 2,100 members in its jet card program.

Jet Linx launched a jet sharing program earlier this year limited to members, allowing them to share flights via an app. It has also carved a reputation for a focus on safety, with an annual safety summit, and the highest possible ratings from IS-BAO Stage 3, Argus Platinum, and Wyvern Wingman.

Jet Linx offers customers in each of its 18 markets a dedicated, local team. Pictured above is the Jet Linx New York team.

However, the key USP for Jet Linx is its local market team and its own private terminals so you don’t have to go through an FBO. Services include valet parking and detailing your car while you are away. There are also complimentary wines and spirits as well as snacks, which also include favorites you designate.

Forbes Travel Guide partnership

The company recently struck an exclusive arrangement with Forbes Travel Guide to establish and implement “standards of service excellence in private aviation.”

The grand opening of Jet Linx New York was catered by Nobu and featured a live performance by Alexa Ray Joel ahead of her return to Café Carlyle for her seventh engagement on October 1-5.

Guests, many of whom arrived by helicopter service provided by Jet Linx, were also able to preview several aircraft in the Jet Linx fleet, including world-class Dassault Falcon 8X and Bombardier Challenger 350 business jets.

Singer-songwriter Alexa Ray Joel performed while Nobu provided hors d’oeuvres as Jet Linx opened its new Paul Bennett designed terminal at Teterboro Airport.

The Jet Linx New York private terminal was designed by Paul Bennett Architects, whose credits include high-end residences, corporate offices, and fashion retail.

The 3,000-square-foot space features decorative elements such as teak wood, cognac leather, and fluted glass. The terminal has a central lounge area as well as several individual seating areas, private conference facility, a fully equipped kitchen, and dedicated hospitality area.

The New York base is a partnership with The Radcliff Companies, a New York-based private investment firm.

“Jet Linx is one of a kind: the only company that couples world-class operational excellence with a bespoke, local customer service experience. Today, we have raised the bar for New York, offering a tasteful, thoughtful private terminal space with a global brand standard. We are excited to elevate the client experience and bring it to the New York region,” said Isaac C. Flanagan, Base Partner and President for Jet Linx New York.

“We are dedicated to serving our clients in a way no other private aviation business can, by providing our aircraft owners and our jet card members with guaranteed private jet services on a local scale to personally serve each client’s individual needs.  We’re excited to introduce Jet Linx and our Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star standards to the local community,” said Walker.
