Private jet activity in North America in July surged to a record 305,136 flights, 43,100 more than 2019, according to Argus TraqPak.
Fractional activity spiked 50.2% from July 2020. Part 135 activity followed with a 47.5% increase, and Part 91 reported a 40.8% year-over-year increase. The charter and jet card activity shattered its previous record for the second month in a row, finishing 8.2% better than June’s 124,118 flights.
Flights are expected to continue at a record pace this month, increasing 14.4% compared to 2019 and 45.3% compared to last year.
Private aviation flights from Florida were 55% ahead of 2019 levels, according to WingX. Arizona saw a 49% increase while South Carolina numbers rose 46%.
Looking globally, WingX reports 13% more private jet and turboprop sectors flew worldwide compared to July 2019. Seventh months into the year, “The aggregate activity of all business aviation aircraft is back in line with the comparable 2019 period,” says managing director Richard Koe.
As flying has surged, so have complaints, according to a recent survey of Private Jet Card Comparisons’ subscribers.
