Private Jet Flight Activity Analysis – 2021 – Week 42

Florida, Texas, Switzerland lead continued week-over-week private jet flight growth in North America, Europe

Switzerland private jet flights jumped 10% week-over-week, Texas flights were up 4%, and Florida continued torrid growth, 3% ahead of week 41 in the Week 42 update, for the week ended Oct. 24.

Flights in the Lone Star state were bolstered by the Formula 1 race in Austin. On the Thursday before the race, private jet arrivals doubled compared to 2019 with 232. On Friday, they were up 277 from 181, and on Saturday from 85 to 152.

“The North American market has seen a 16% rebound in business jet sectors so far this month compared to October 2019, on-trend for the sixth successive record-breaking month. Depleted airline schedules, 26% below comparative October 2019, continue to bring new customers to bizav. The United States is the strongest market, with domestic business jet trips up by 21% vs. October 2019, up 43% on October last year,” says WingX managing director Richard Koe.

While the global charter and fractional flights were down 1% week-over-week, numbers remained 18% over Week 42 totals in 2019.

Florida continued week-over-week growth, up 1%, 37% ahead of 2019 for Week 42, and 37% ahead of flights for the previous four weeks two years ago.

Switzerland had the most significant week-over-week gains – up 16% – while Asia flights were up 14%.
