Over three-quarters, 77% of subscribers to Private Jet Card Comparisons who use our JET CARD DECIDER service say they bring pets, on at least some of their private flights, according to The Jet Card Report 2021.
Those dogs, cats, and other friends probably are delighted you are flying privately, even if there are kinks in the system these days.
According to Veterinarians.org, between 2015 and 2020, there were 112 pet deaths reported by the airlines to the DOT.
United Airlines led the way with 45 pet deaths, followed by Delta Air Lines at 27, and American Airlines with 16 pet deaths.
An additional 81 pet injuries were reported – with United again leading the way, reporting 42 injuries.
However, Hawaiian Airlines was the most likely to put your pet at risk. The airline got the highest average incident rate of 2.03%. Out of 55,906 animals transported, that means over 1,000 incidents, making it the worst airline for pets.
Four pets were lost – and never found.
So even if you are having some challenges with your private flights, take heart your pets appreciate it.
