Private Jet Flight Activity Analysis – 2021 – Week 46

North America powers global private jet travel to 5% week-over-week gain as charter, fractional flights post double-digit increase in Florida

Global private jet activity posted a 5% week-over-week gain for the period ending Nov. 21, 2021, according to WingX. That’s 24% ahead of 2019’s pre-pandemic numbers for Week 46, and19% up on the trailing four weeks.

North America and the U.S. saw a 6% gain compared to Week 45. They accounted for 59,553 and 54,532 of 74,873 global flights.

In the U.S., Florida continued its surge in demand as private jet flights increased 9% week-over-week and a stunning 57% ahead of pre-pandemic levels. For the trailing four weeks, private jet flights for the Sunshine State were 47% ahead of the same weeks in 2019.

Germany and France each saw week-over-week gains and over the past four weeks, European private jet flights are 30% ahead of 2019 levels. Switzerland and Italy have both realized gains of over 40%.

Looking towards charter and fractional operators, including jet card flights, U.S. activity was up 6% week-over-week led by Florida with an 11% gain. That puts Florida numbers 83% above 2019 levels.

The spike has been sustained – 69% up compared to pre-pandemic counts over the past month.

In Europe, charter and fractional flights are 46% above 2019 levels for the prior four weeks.

Richard Koe, managing director of WingX says there is room for more gains, noting intercontinental sectors remain depressed.

“Almost all the growth has come in the shorter sectors, with the sweet spot in the two to three hours sectors,” he said.
