Private Jet Flight Activity Analysis – 2024 – Week 15

Private jet flight activity in Italy holds its own in Europe while the U.S. pushes ahead with gains.

Worldwide private jet flight activity (73,510 segments) increased 2% from the previous week, putting it 4% up year over year compared to Week 15 last year.

Week 15 in 2023 was down 4% from 2022.

For the first two weeks of April, global private jet segments were 34% ahead of 2019 pre-Covid levels.

WingX Managing Director Richard Koe tells us, “The U.S. market is still growing, especially for the top operators. Bizjet visitors to airports hosting The Masters golf tournament were up by 15% compared to last year’s event.”

Looking at the U.S. through April 14, 2024, the 51,779 segments were 2% up week-to-week and also up 4% year-over-year.

Moreover, private flights in the U.S. (199,075 segments) are 4% up, looking back over the previous 28 days.

Europe’s 9,128 flights were 10% up from Week 14 but down 1% year-over-year.

During the trailing month, European sectors (34,701) were 5% below 2023.

Over the past four weeks, all major European markets were down except Italy (3,617), which was flat.

Fractional and charter operators (36,237 flights) were flat compared to last year in Week 15 and 1% up over the trailing four weeks (141,947 segments).

U.S. charter and fractional flights were 5% up for the week compared to 2023 (26,887 flights) and a similar percentage ahead over the past month (104,432).

Texas (+7%) and California (+5%) showed the biggest gains in major U.S. markets during the past month.
