Global private aviation traffic has increased by 6% in June 2021 compared to 2019, effectively setting record levels of activity, according to the most recent Tracker update from WingX.

With Europe reopening, private jet flights are now joining the U.S. trend with dramatic gains compared to pre-pandemic 2019 activity

European private jet flights are bouncing back, in some cases exceeding 2019 levels, according to WingX’s latest weekly report. There were 2,634 business jet and turboprop sectors flown in Europe on June 21st, 2021, 95% more than the summer solstice last year and almost exactly matching 2019.

With the U.S. leading the way, global private jet flights are 12% ahead of 2019 pre-Covid levels in June, according to WingX. It comes as scheduled airline flights remain 40% lower than 2019 levels. So far this year, global private aviation activity is just 6% below 2019 levels and 41% above 2020.

Private aviation charter flights in North America are up 10% year-to-date compared to 2019 – and 50% against covid-impacted 2020, according to WingX. In addition, airports in Florida are up 40% in June, compared to 2019.
