Private Jet Flight Activity Analysis – 2022 – Week 11

By Doug Gollan, March 24, 2022

Global private jet flight activity declined for the third straight week as growth begins to slow for the supercharged market

Global private jet flights dipped down again, dropping 1% in Week 11 from Week 10, according to the latest WingX data.

It was the third straight week of declines.

Global private aviation flight activity slows

“The regional impact of the war in Ukraine on flight activity is predictably severe, with almost no inbound flights to Europe, business jet departures from Russia heading to the Middle East region. The wider growth trends in business jet activity are clearly slowing on the earlier months of 2022, with the charter market relatively impacted most, whilst private flight activity appears to retain a strong rebound on last year,” said Richard Koe, Managing Director of WingX.

Still, the 75,258 private jet flights during Week 11 marked a 30% increase over 2021. For the trailing four weeks, global private jets were 37% higher than last year.

The world’s largest private jet market – the United States – was down 3% week-to-week, accounting for 54,760 flights.

That number was still 27% higher than Week 11 in 2021 and 35% up for the past month.

Despite the Ukraine War, Europe private jet flights saw a 4% week-to-week boost with 10,260 movements, 44% ahead of 2021.

In Europe, private jet movements increased 51% over the past month compared to 2021. U.K. private jet flights are up 194% during that period.
