Ryder Cup, World Cup Rugby push Italy, France to gains in private jet flight activity.
The latest WingX data shows worldwide private jet flight activity in Week 39 ( 73,774 ) increased by 1% from the previous week.
That put the number of flights 4% ahead of the same period in 2022.
In the U.S., private flight segments (51,004) were 1% down week-to-week and 5% ahead of last year.
Florida saw a 22% jump over the same week in 2022 (4,734 segments), although well off its 52-week high of 9,174 flights in Week 8 of 2023.
The surge put Sunshine State private flights 2% ahead of last year over the trailing four weeks.
Europe (13,535 flights) saw a 3% gain from the previous week, 3% ahead of 2022.
Italy (1,693 segments) was buoyed by the Ryder Cup, sending its numbers 14% higher than last year.
France (2,283 segments) was 6% up on last year, also helped by sports.
“There was also a bump for France, with international sectors 22% ahead of September last year and 5% ahead of 2019. Visitors to the World Cup Rugby matches and the Ryder Cup competition has clearly boosted traffic,” says WingX Managing Director Richard Koe.

Fractional and charter operators (37,545 flights) saw a 1% week-to-week gain, 6% ahead of Week 39 in 2022.
Over the past month, fractional and charter operators are 1% ahead of last year.
The U.S. was flat (25,875 flights) week-to-week, 7% ahead of last year.
For the past four weeks, the Part 91k/135 segment was 1% up compared to 2022.
