Florida’s big week helped boost global private jet flight activity, according to the latest report from WingX.
Global private jet flight activity (67,119 segments) increased by 1% from the previous week, putting them 2% below Week 49 in 2022.
Looking at the first 10 days of the year’s last month, WingX Managing Director Richard Koe says, “Business jet activity dropped at the start of December, flights down 4% compared to last year, although still 7% ahead of 2019.”
Year-to-date, global private jet activity is 4% behind last year.
That’s still 19% ahead of 2019.
However, everything isn’t equal.
Koe notes, “Bizjet demand in Europe is weakening towards the 2019 trend. The Middle East is weaker, with a 15% drop YOY in the latest week, although notably, the COP conference drew a spike in bizjet arrivals. The U.S. is still relatively strong, especially for the largest operators.”
In the U.S., there were 48,024 segments for the week ending Dec. 10, 2023.
That was 1% up week-to-week and 3% down to 2022.
In Europe, the 8,926 segments represented a 1% gain from Week 48, even with last year during the same period.
