By-the-seat private jet flight provider JSX is preparing for Autism Acceptance Month in April by highlighting its status as an autism-certified air carrier.

Its autism awareness training and protocols were developed in collaboration with experts at Autism Double-Checked.

JSX is the world’s first Autism Certified Air Carrier by Autism Double-Checked.

Training and autism awareness initiatives include:

  • Role-specific training for pilots, flight attendants, and crew members that teaches ways to support passengers with autism.
  • Multiple courses that educate JSX team members on what challenges people with autism face while flying and actionable steps to make their journey more comfortable.
  • Partnerships with local Autism societies in JSX cities to host mock-boarding events, inviting families to experience the check-in, boarding, and in-flight beverage service processes to introduce potential passengers to fly in a safe, controlled environment.

JSX’s autism strategy started by reassessing existing air travel practices and streamlining the processes where possible, such as cutting the time spent at the and minimizing lines, reducing travel stress.

The Human Rights Campaign recognized it with a 100% score on the 2020 and 2021 Corporate Equality Index.

It also has longstanding partnerships and memberships with the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals, the National Gay Pilots Association, Women in Aviation International, the Latino Pilots Association, Professional Pilots of Tomorrow, and the Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance.

The 2016 start-up has built its network of scheduled flights nationwide after starting on the West Coast.
