Q2 2024 private jet activity far ahead of pre-Covid levels

Fractional flight providers flew 59% more hours in Q2 2024 than the same period in 2019 prior to the Covid-19 pandemic surge.

Private jet operators are still savoring big gains compared to pre-Covid 2019 numbers.

Fractional operators led the way.

Aviation Week Intelligence Network Tracked Aircraft Utilization shows that the fractional players’ flight hours were up 59% in Q2 2024 compared to the same period in 2019.

Charter operators saw a 34% gain compared to 2019.

Private operators were up 33%, while corporate flight departments saw a more modest 12% growth.

Compared to last year, fractionals were up 11%, with charter operators showing a 5% year-over-year gain.

Corporate flight departments were flat compared to last year.

Private owner flights, down 3%, were the only category with a decline.
