By Doug Gollan, January 16, 2025

Worldwide private jet departures (59,330) in Week 2 of 2025 were down 5% from Week 1 but still flat year-over-year.

With 258,132 segments over the four weeks that ended Jan. 12, 2025, global private jet flight activity posted a solid 4% year-over-year gain during the festive period.

The U.S., with 41,905 departures, mirrored the global market for 2025’s second week.

However, its 177,410 segments drove a 6% year-over-year rise over the trailing month.

The three largest U.S. markets—Florida (+6%), California (+4%), and Texas (+4%)—all showed positive gains over the past four weeks, which included the holidays.

WingX Managing Director Richard Koe says, “The Los Angeles wildfires have been a major focus of the past two weeks.”

He adds, “The metro area airports around Los Angeles have seen a 2% contraction in bizjet activity during this period, with most activity heading to the Las Vegas area.”

Burbank to Las Vegas flights were up 23% per WingX.

Europe departures (6,811) saw an 8% sequential spike.

That wasn’t enough to equal 2024.

Activity was 2% under last year for Week 2.

However, the holiday season (28,917 departures over the past four weeks) was 3% ahead of 2023/24.
