NetJets led Week 6’s surge in private jet flight activity with 160 arrivals in New Orleans for the Super Bowl.
Worldwide private jet flight activity (66,398 departures) increased 2% week-to-week in Week 6 of 2025 and was 2% ahead of the same period in 2024.
Global private jet departures over the trailing four weeks (262,817) were 5% ahead of last year.
WingX Managing Director Richard Koe says, “The Super Bowl saw the biggest surge in business jets since 2018, with departures on the day after the event five times higher than the average daily departures this month.”
He adds, “This reflects a general buoyancy in the US market since November.”
However, it’s not all roses.
Koe says, “The European market is subdued, particularly in the UK, with an alarming 20% drop year-over-year in business jet flights (1,118 segments) last week.”
The UK has also been 4% below last year’s number during the past four weeks.
Of course, that number pales compared to the United States, which had 46,460 segments for the week ending Feb. 9, 2025.
The U.S. saw 4% week-to-week gains and 3% year-over-year increases.
That was below its 6% departure increase over the past four weeks.
Florida, the biggest state in the U.S. for private jet activity, had 7,780 weekly departures, an 11% increase year over year.
For a Super Bowl overview, WingX data shows that 577 private jets left New Orleans area airports on the Monday after the game.
That’s about five times higher than the average daily departures for a similar period.
Glendale, Arizona, retains the record for the most private jet departures on Monday following a Super Bowl.
The 2023 Big Game, featuring the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, saw 931 private jet departures Monday after the game.
That was also five times higher than the daily daily Phoenix airport departures.
As a bit more of a Super Bowl subtext, Koe calls fractional operators this year’s big winner, particularly NetJets.
Berkshire Hathaway’s private jet airline was the busiest fractional operator during the Super Bowl weekend, with 160 arrivals.
That was 73% of all fractional arrivals, per WingX.
Flexjet recorded 43 arrivals.
Fractional operators recorded 33% of arrivals this year.
That compares to 31% of the market share of arrivals into Las Vegas airports during the 2024 Super Bowl event weekend.
