Global private jet flight activity (74,530 segments) continued its surge in Week 8 with 3% sequential growth and a like year-over-year increase.

Private jet flying was 2% higher than a year ago during the trailing four weeks with 280,413 segments.

WingX Managing Director Richard Koe says, “The demand for business jets remains resilient despite growing concerns for the global economy, with Florida still booming, though Germany’s political strife is reflected in significantly less flying this year.”

Koe notes, “Post-US election flying looks robust.”

He continues, “Business jet departures since November 6th, 2024, are 5% ahead of year-over-year comparables.”

However, the growth isn’t equal.

Koe points out, “Fractional operators are flying 14% more than comparable last year since the election, whereas Corporate flight departments are flying 11% less than last year.”

U.S. Private Jet Flight Activity

The U.S. (51,894 departures) saw 4% growth week-to-week, putting it 2% up year-over-year.

The 194,203 departures during the past four weeks are 2% ahead of 2024.

Florida (9,127 departures) saw 6% growth from the previous week and was 4% ahead of last year’s number.

Europe (8,852 departures) was flat week-to-week but up 4% year-over-year.

Europe (33,974 departures) was also flat during the trailing four weeks compared to 2024.

For the week ending Feb. 23, 2025, Africa was up 30% year-over-year.

Its 3,540 departures during the past month represented 25% growth.

South Africa and Morocco have been the stars, per Koe.
