Private Jet Flight Activity Analysis – 2025 – Week 10

Worldwide private jet activity sees its first weekly year-over-year decline as U.S. tariffs ‘started to rattle the market,’ says WingX’s Koe.

Worldwide private jet flight activity (70,810 segments) finally went down on a year-over-year basis in Week 10, dipping 2%, the same amount as it declined from the previous week.

Its 289,491 segments over the past four weeks still represented a 2% increase compared to 2024.

Tariff Impact?

WingX Managing Director Richard Koe points out that the week ending March 9, 2025, was the first week of 2025 to see a year-over-year drop in private jet departures.

Koe says, “Since November 2024, the week-on-week trends in business jet activity has been consistently up, contrasting with sluggish negative trends through 2023 and 2024, but since Trump’s tariff policy started to rattle the markets, business jet demand has noticeably fallen back.”

The world’s biggest private aviation market—the United States—saw 49,850 departures, down 1% year over year but up 2% over the past month.

The biggest U.S. market – Florida – saw 8,378 departures, up 1% year-over-year.

Other parts of the world were in the red.

Koe adds, “Europe and the Middle East saw significantly less activity in Week 10 year-on-year.”

Europe (8,398 departures) was down 7% year-over-year and has remained flat over the past four weeks (34,706).

Germany (1,026 segments) was down 19% year-over-year and 10% across the trailing four weeks (4,106).

The Middle East (1,134 departures) was down 21% week-to-week and 24% year-over-year.

It’s down (5,410 departures) by 8% over the past four weeks compared to 2024.

Africa provided a bright note (895 departures) with a 9% year-over-year gain.

It is 22% ahead of last year over the past four weeks.
