Worldwide private jet flight activity (72,932 segments) increased 1% year-over-year in Week 19 despite a 1% week-to-week drop.

If you are keeping score, business jet departures have been up compared to 2024 in 15 weeks in 2025, flat twice, and down twice.

Year-to-date WingX data shows a 3% year-over-year gain through May 11, 2025.

Over the trailing four weeks, gains decelerated to 2% year-over-year with 291,952 segments globally.

However, past performance (below) may not reflect what’s next.

WingX Managing Director Richard Koe says, “Flight activity in May clearly shows that the Trump bump back in November has dissipated, although there are no signs in the U.S. market of a major relapse in demand, which would reflect the deteriorating economic outlook since Trump’s tariffs.”

The U.S. (50,420 departures) was up 2% year-over-year in Week 19.

On the other hand, Europe (10,526) was down 2%.

Before President Donald Trump visited Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, private jet flights in the Middle East (1,474) were 7% higher than last year.

However, Africa (851) posted the biggest regional gain, up 27% compared to 2024.

Africa’s business jet flights were up 21% during the four-week trailing period.
