Worldwide private jet flight activity continued its year-over-year gains as Bombardier dominated the Sun Valley Allen & Co. private jet scene.
Worldwide private jet flight activity (76,604 segments) continued its ascent from last year with a 4% year-over-year increase in Week 28.
The totals for the week ending July 13, 2025, marked a 13% sequential gain.
WingX Managing Director Richard Koe notes, “So far this year, business jet activity has totaled roughly two million flights—an overall increase of 3% compared with the same period last year.”
He adds, “Flight hours are also 3% ahead of 2024, while the fleet of active aircraft has modestly contracted by about 1%.”
If you are keeping score, like we do, here’s the record for private jet flight activity so far in 2025 compared to 2024:
In an interesting note, Koe tells us at the Allen & Company conference held in Sun Valley last week, Bombardier was the top OEM choice of those who arrived via private jet.
“The busiest aircraft type during the event week was the Bombardier Challenger 300/350 series, 44 individual aircraft recorded, 16 of Bombardier’s latest Global 7000/7500 were recorded arriving,” Koe says.
According to AMSTAT, there are 208 Global 7500s in service.
Koe adds, most of the 432 arrivals that coincided with the media conference were operated by fractional companies.
The U.S. (48,799 segments) saw a 3% year-over-year increase bolstered by a 20% sequential gain.
Texas (4,590 flights) saw a 14% year-over-year increase, following an 18% sequential rise.
Moving to Europe, the 15,740 departures were a 7% improvement over 2024.
France’s 2,814 segments were a 24% year-over-year gain.
Over the trailing four weeks, France is 8% ahead of the same period last year.
Italy’s 2,343 segment marked a 15% year-over-year increase for the week.
Over the past month, Italian private jet segments were up 18% compared to 2024.
La Dolce Vita, as they say.
South America (+17%), Africa (+14%), and the Middle East (+8%) also posted year-over-year gains.
Together, that represented 5,001 segments.
