The Dassault Falcon 50 and Falcon 50EX are three-engine, super-midsize private jets manufactured by the French aerospace company Dassault Aviation.
AOPA Magazine writes, “Falcons have always been known as pilots’ airplanes, and the Falcon 50 and follow-on 50EX preserved those traits while broadening the design’s reach into super-midsize territory. Certified in 1977, the 50 is a three-engine outgrowth of the Falcon 20 design, which also was well regarded for its flying qualities and large cabin. And the 50 became known for being the biggest airplane on the ramp at smaller airports, opening up to its owners many more airport options than its competitors.”

A new Dassault Aviation Falcon 50EX is listed at $21 million
Dassault developed the Falcon 50 to fill the gap between the Falcon 20 and larger Falcon 900 models. The Falcon 50 made its first flight on November 7, 1976. The Falcon 50 and 50EX have been in production from 1976 to 1996 and then the EX through 2007.
The Falcon 50 series have a cabin height of 5.9 feet, 6.1 feet wide, and a length of 23.5 feet. They can seat up to nine passengers in a standard configuration, including a three-seat divan. The lavatory is located at the rear of the cabin.
The Falcon 50 and 50EX are powered by three Garrett TFE731-3-1C turbofan engines, which provide a maximum cruise speed of 466 knots (536 mph) and a range of up to 3,200 nautical miles (3,680 miles) for the Falcon 50, and up to 3,400 nautical miles (3,910 miles) for the Falcon 50EX. They have a maximum takeoff weight of 40,780 pounds and a maximum altitude of 45,000 feet.
When in production, a new Falcon 50EX was priced at $21 million. Used types are priced from around $2.5 million.
