eastern expansion which now has bases in Atlanta, Washington D.C. and New York
Jet Linx said it celebrated the formal grand opening of its
new private terminal in Boston this week with a celebration drawing over 125
guests, plus aircraft on display from Bombardier, Embraer, Dassault Falcon,
Gulfstream and Textron Aviation.

Dumont Jets is promoting its Dassault Falcon 2000 Santos Jet Card program by offering a free demo flight up to five hours within the Continental U.S. After you take your flight, if you decide to purchase a 25-hour Falcon 2000 Jet Card, your flight is free. The rate is $9,000 per hour plus 7.5% Federal Excise Tax. If you aren’t completely satisfied with the Falcon 2000 after your flight, Dumont Jets will offer the flight at a 25% discount with no further commitment, so a $6,750 hourly rate for your test flight.
One benefit of flying privately is the ability to access alternate airports during bad weather
Winter weather in the mountains can mean airport closings and delays. Jet card and on-demand charter broker Magellan Jets says one benefit of flying privately to your ski vacation means while commercial fliers see their trips canceled, there’s always a backup plan with private jets. It says, “The Magellan Jets team is always prepared to give our clients up to the minute notifications when and if your flight’s plans must change due to weather at any of these airports.” Recently it outlined U.S. destinations most likely to be impacted by extreme weather and best alternate airports.
When you charter on-demand, buy a full aircraft or fractional share, you buy a specific aircraft type. What about jet card membership programs?
In case you haven’t noticed, most jet card programs specify cabin size, then fulfill your needs from a variety of aircraft types in that cabin category. In some cases that’s because you are buying your jet card from a management company and they are clustering all of the aircraft in that cabin size category together. In other cases, it’s a broker program that is sourcing aircraft from charter operators, including management companies and fleet operators. You’ll often see a range of seating for the aircraft that apply to that category, so in the SuperMid category you could get a jet that fits eight people one time and 10 the next. In Large Cabin jets it’s not unusual to see a range of 10 to 14 seats.
