Surf Air Adds Bitcoin And Ethereum As Forms Of Payment

Surf Air is now accepting Bitcoin and Ethereum for both membership or charter flights. The company’s network has three zones that include San Francisco/Bay Area, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Truckee, Napa, Monterey, Las Vegas, Austin, Dallas, Houston, Midland, San Antonio, The Woodlands, Oklahoma City, London, Zurich, Ibiza, and Cannes. Membership prices are posted on today’s equivalent exchange rate for 12-month advance payment and initiation fee.

Less than six months after taking flight, the all you can fly membership airline is making a big move, just a short distance, moving its London operations some 50 miles from Luton Airport to London City Airport in December. Initially, the schedule will feature the same weekday daily nonstops to Zurich with plans to go double daily in the coming months, CEO Simon Talling-Smith tells Private Jet Card Comparisons. He adds, “We will be operating our first (Pilatus) PC-12s from the Zurich base into Luxembourg and Munich (and) we’re also looking carefully at Zurich-Frankfurt and Zurich-Brussels.”

Surf Air in Europe took flight at the beginning of the summer with leisure routes from Luton Airport outside London to Ibiza and Cannes. Then last month it launched Zurich, albeit two roundtrips per week. Now, the carrier says beginning November 13 it will increase its Luton-Zurich roundtrips to daily on the weekdays. The new schedule better supports Surf Air’s appeal to business travelers.

Another private jet like shuttle service says it is making inroads in European’s aviation market. JetClass, which is a “non-subscription” service has been offering travelers the opportunities to buy single seats on shared private jets for as little as EUR 290 since the beginning of the summer. Surf Air’s European operation, which launched earlier this summer with flights from London’s Luton Airport to Ibiza, Cannes and now Zurich, is offering free flights to top-tier frequent fliers in the programs of other European airlines.

Private aviation provider Surf Air is offering a new program targeting weekend leisure travelers with a $2,500 annual membership fee.

 

Surf Air is planning to launch a new product next month called “Escapes” that is aimed at the leisure traveler. It’s a hybrid approach to the company’s monthly membership “all-you-can-fly” model. The program was soft-launched last weekend.

The move apparently took place earlier this month but has yet to be reported and the company, which is privately held, did not issue a press release. Wikipedia still lists Potter as the CEO
