HNA Group’s Deer Jet, which last year debuted a Boeing 787 configured for luxury charter, is joining the increasingly crowded skies of luxury private jet tours by partnering with Waldorf Astoria, one of Hilton’s luxury brands.
According to a press release, “The result of the Deer Jet and Hilton partnership is to offer premium business travelers on the new itineraries Hong Kong to Paris and Hong Kong to Rome with seven complimentary nights at the luxurious presidential suites of assorted Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts properties in Paris and Rome.”
Included are “cultural luxury private tours with a unique selection of galleries, museums, restaurants, limousines, and yachts for travelers to discover the city’s hidden gems only known by selected few.”
Deer Jet says they will be adding a second VVIP Boeing 787 soon.
Deer Jet is not alone in entering the private jet tour market. Tour operator Abercrombie & Kent and hotel management company Four Seasons made news several years ago by launching branded private jet tours using Boeing 757s configured with flat bed seats. Later this year, Crystal Cruises is moving from the high seas to the air with a custom Boeing 777-200LR configured with 84 flat bed seats, a dining room, lounge, and bar. Aman in September has scheduled a luxury wellness tour visiting several of its resorts in Southeast Asia using 16-seat Embraer executive jets. Not all private jet tours have taken flight. Robb Report attempted to get into the market several years ago, but the trip it marketed never took place.
Price per person can range into six figures. Deer Jet did not release pricing for the programs it is offering that feature the Waldorf Astoria properties in Paris and Rome, however, a search of Hilton’s website found rates for top suites ranging between $3,500 and $10,000 per night in those two cities, respectively. Deer Jet had previously quoted $70,000 per hour for on-demand charter on its 787 taking the entire aircraft.
