Air Partner, Camper & Nicholsons Partner To Offer Private Jet, Superyacht Packages

By Doug Gollan, November 3, 2017

The private jet card membership seller and broker of superyachts are partnering to offer pricing that covers private jet travel and a one-week yacht charter

Birds of a feather flock together, or in this case float and fly together. Jet card seller Air Partner is teaming with superyacht broker Camper & Nicholsons to offer new “Sky to Sea” packages, including private jet travel and a yacht charter for one week.

“Our clientele is always seeking a lavish, private adventure and partnering with a leader in the marine space gives them the opportunity to enjoy the finest in secluded travel in the air and at sea,” said Vincent Kavanagh, senior vice president of sales for Air Partner in a press release received by Private Jet Card Comparisons.  “We can’t think of a better winter escape than flying private to catch a yacht bound for the open water.  We hope our travelers take advantage of this unique cost-savings and enjoy the gorgeous weather that awaits them in sunny South Florida and in the Caribbean.”

The way it works is a bit clunky. Passengers booking the below packages can work with Air Partner to customize their onboard flight experience to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and sail to multiple destinations from there – including the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, Elliott Key, Key Largo and Newfound Harbor in Key West.  Pricing below includes round-trip private airfare with Air Partner and a one-week sailing aboard a luxury yacht. Price does not include food, fuel, tips to crew, port charges and additional extras typically associated with yacht charters we are told.

  • 90-foot Super Yacht – prices start at $80,000 ($10,000 pp)
  • 115-foot Super Yacht – prices start at $112,000 ($14,000 pp)

  • Two passengers
  • 70-foot Sail Boat – prices start at $67,000 ($33,500 pp)

Los Angeles (Van Nuys) to Fort Lauderdale

  • 115-foot Super Yacht – prices start at 180,000 ($22,500 pp)

  • Two passengers
  • 70-foot Sail Boat – prices start at $125,000 ($62,500 pp)

So what yacht will you be sailing on? Apparently, if you are interested, once you contact Air Partner or Camper & Nicholsons, they will provide a list of yachts that are available for the dates you are interested in that would be based in Ft. Lauderdale.

We also looked at the Camper website. We found one 90-foot yacht, the Georgina which is priced at $58,000 per week. What it means is that the deal on air equates to $22,000 roundtrip from New York, $59,000 from Chicago and $97,000 from Los Angeles.

For the 115-foot super yacht, we found two in that range (Emoji and Solis) which charter for $116,000 and $120,000 per week, respectively. Using the average, $118,000 per week, that would make for a pretty good deal from New York where the combined price is $112,000, Chicago where they prorated air would work out to $24,000 roundtrip and $62,000 from Los Angeles.

We couldn’t find a 70-foot sailboat on the Camper website, but as a broker, Camper sources yachts from other brokers that have listings, similar to the way real estate agents work.

So is this a good deal?

First of all, the pricing is “starts at” so you aren’t getting an offer you can take to the bank. Frankly, it’s hard to tell until you find out the yachts are being offered, but if you are in the charter market, it is certainly a reason to give Camper a call. As to the value for Air Partner, our experience is in most partnerships like this one the big benefit is that the partners cross-market to their lists cost-effectively getting more exposure. In other words, Air Partner gets exposure to Camper’s list of wealthy customers and vice versa.
