JetSuite’s JSX is adding a new city as it continues to ramp up its by the seat shuttle service which uses private aviation terminals and other private facilities.
As with typical airlines, JSX, formerly JetSuiteX, operates on a fixed schedule. However, by using private airport facilities customers cut total travel time in half.
The new flights, to Portland International Airport (PDX) from Seattle’s Boeing Field, will operate up to five times daily. Price starts at $49 one-way.
JSX will be the only scheduled flights connecting Boeing Field and Portland.
Delta Air Lines and Alaska Airlines fly between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and the Oregon city. Each use a mix of regional jets and turboprops.
Weekday departures on JSX northbound will be at 8:10 am, 10:45 am, 1:30 pm, 4:20 pm, and 7:10 pm.
Southbound flights are scheduled at 7 am, 9:30 am, 12:05 am, 2:55 pm, and 5:45 pm.
Travel time is approximately 50 minutes and passengers only need to show up 20 minutes prior to departure.
From Seattle, JSX currently serves Oakland, California.
JSX has built a significant network from Las Vegas, where it now offers nonstop flights to Phoenix, Orange County, Van Nuys, and Oakland.
Flights use refurbished Embraer 135/145 regional jets. Each has had seating reduced to 30 passengers. Seats also have at least 36 inches of pitch, equivalent to domestic first class.
There is also free WiFi, snacks, drinks, and you get two free checked bags.
JSX also recently launched a new initiative offering its 30-seats jets on the charter market. At the same time, JetSuite which currently operates Embraer Phenom 300 and 100s is expected to announce a new aircraft type for its on-demand charter and jet card fleet.
