GlobeAir limits operations as COVID-19 Coronavirus travel restrictions increase

By Doug Gollan, March 25, 2020

The European operator of private jets is cutting back on the countries it is operating to as more governments impose travel restrictions

GlobeAir announced it is restricting operations to United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

It said, “Coronavirus (COVID-19) is affecting multiple airports in Europe, therefore we are restricting operations.” It is offering refunds to impacted customers.

Since March 6, GlobeAir said it had repatriated 26 passengers. The travelers were mostly departing from France, Switzerland, and Spain trying to reach Switzerland, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

GlobeAir said disruption to airline flights was the main reason for the private trips.

GlobeAir operates a fleet of Cessna Citation Mustang very light jets seating up to four passengers.
