Skippy Air Charter is proposing to begin shared flight memberships between Melbourne and Sydney later this year

A Melbourne, Australia-based private jet charter company, Skippy Air Charter, is looking to offer shared private flight memberships for weekly trips to Sydney.

Six-month Corporate X Memberships provide one roundtrip seat per week between the two cities. Aircraft will include eight seats in a club configuration, onboard galley, flight attendant, and toilet facilities. The shuttle will use private lounges, enabling members to avoid security lines, large terminals, and crowded airliners.

Memberships are priced at AUD $11,825, including tax. That’s about USD $8,500.

In terms of flight times, the Corporate X flights will leave Melbourne at 7:30 am returning at 4:30 pm. The day of week will be determined by the “majority” of group members. If you can’t use your seat, it can be transferred.

Skippy said there will be a break around the holidays. Should there be travel restrictions related to COVID-19,, the service would be suspended.

Marty Grant, an executive with the company tells Private Jet Card Comparisons, “The COVID-19 situation has created an opportunity for this business model.”

He noted, “We have initial interest…but still need more to make up the first group of eight members…along with the boarder restrictions being lifted.”
