Despite shutdowns and increased restrictions, or perhaps because private jet flights jumped 8% globally week-over-week. According to WingX data, there were 73,611 private jet flights for the week ended Dec. 19, an 8% jump over Week 49.
Worldwide, private jet flights were 29% ahead of 2019 levels for Week 50 and 19% ahead of pre-Covid levels over the past month.
Europe saw the biggest week-to-week growth, with flights up 12%. Despite Omicron’s spread, European private jet activity was up 13% compared to 2019 during the past month.
Swiss and U.K. private jet flights saw the most significant weekly jump, up 25% and 21%, respectively. Italy and France saw 15% and 14% gains.
Overall, European private jet flights were up 16% compared to the same week in 2019 and for the trailing four weeks compared to pre-Covid activity.
In the U.S., private jet flights increased 6% week-to-week for a 31% jump compared to 2019. For the past month, private jet flights in the U.S. were 21% higher than in 2019.
Florida private jet flights were 68% ahead of Week 50 in 2019.

The charter and fractional market showed that private jet flights were up 10% in Week 50 on a week-over-week basis worldwide.
That put private jet fractional and charter flights for Week 50 a stunning 54% higher than 2019 and 36% higher over the trailing four weeks.
The U.K. fractional and charter market- ed Europe with a 31% week-to-week gain. France, Switzerland, and Italy all saw more than 20% gains compared to the prior week.
The world’s biggest private jet market, the U.S., which accounts for about three-quarters of charter and fractional flights, saw an 8% week-to-week increase.
The 27,428 private jet flights were 60% ahead of 2019 totals for the same week. Over the past month, the U.S. fractional and charter flights tracked 42% ahead of 2019 levels.
With 4,388 private jet flights last week, Florida saw an 11% weekly gain, a stunning 97% spike compared to 2019.
Florida fractional and charter flights were 63% higher than pre-pandemic activity for the past month.
