Global private jet flight activity dropped 2% from the previous week in Week 17, with 75,004 departures, according to the latest WingX data.
Still, they remain at record levels, 27% ahead of the same week last year, and 30% higher for the trailing four weeks.
Wing X notes private jet sectors were up 16% compared to April 2019 and 281% compared to April 2020, the low point during the pandemic.
U.S. private jet flights for the week ending May 1 were off 4%, and accounted for 58,629, still accounting for 71.5% of worldwide departures.
Florida private jet flights, which were highlighted as a cause of stress on the air traffic control system by Bloomberg, were down 12%.
Still, they remained 13% ahead of Week 17 in 20221 and 20% up compared to last year’s record for the past month.
Europe enjoyed a 4% week-to-week rise in private jet flights with 11,557 departures, a 41% year-over-year gain.
Germany powered that number with a 26% week-to-week bump on 1,527 flights, 33% ahead of 2021.

The charter and fractional market saw a 9% week-to-week decline after Week 16’s 9% gain.
Still, the charter and fractional operators flew 16% more segments than 2021, and are 24% ahead of their flight activity for the past month when compared to last year.
In the U.S., charter and fractional departures slid 7% week-to-week with 26,455, up 14% over 2021.
Florida, with a 16% dip was just 1% ahead of 2021 for Week 17. However, the F1 in Miami this weekend could change that trend.

In Europe, where there was a 13% week-to-week dip, all markets we track were in the red.
