Private jet flight activity continues to counter the naysayers staying 20% ahead of 2019’s pre-Covid levels.
Global private jet flight activity (72,380 flights) in Week 42 of 2023 dipped 3% from last week and 2% from the same period in 2022.
During the past four weeks, worldwide private jet flying (289,465 movements) was flat with 2022.
As we march towards the end of 2023, WingX Managing Director Richard Koe says, “Business jet activity in the core North American and European markets has now aligned with 2022 trends as we lap the anniversary of the slowdown post-Covid. The Covid peaks are now measurable against the late 2021 surge. Comparison with 2019 trends shows a solid 20% gain, with this year trending towards a 4% drop compared to last year.”
For the United States, in Week 42, flying (52,585 segments) was down 1% week-to-week and 2% compared to last year.
During the trailing month, flights (206,849) were just 1% off in 2022.
Europe (10,896 flights) was down 6% week-to-week and 3% under last year.
However, European private jet flights (48,258) were just 1% below 2022 during the past month.
Bolstered by the Ryder Cup and World Rugby, Italy (+7%) and France (+2%) saw private flights ahead of last year.
