What went down last week came back up this week as global private jet flight activity increased 7% week-over-week with 69,141 flights.

This week’s jump put worldwide private jet flight activity 1% ahead of Week 45 in 2022.

Private Jets outperform Airlines

For a broader perspective, WingX Managing Director Richard Koe tells us, “Focusing on just business jet flights, there have been 3,100,000 sectors flown globally so far this year, 4% fewer than comparable last year, and 19% ahead of four years ago.”

Koe notes year-to-date scheduled airline sectors are 16% ahead of last year and 10% behind 2019.

The cargo market, which swelled during Covid, is 6% behind in 2022 and just 1% ahead of 2019.

In the U.S., private flying charged ahead by 6% with 50,169 segments.

That’s 3% above last year, with Florida’s 6,707 flights representing a 16% gain over 2022.
