Despite a flat week, worldwide private jet flight activity is 32.1% higher than 2019 year-to-date says WingX.
Worldwide private jet flight activity (70,993 segments) was flat for Week 19 of 2024 compared to the previous week.
The latest data from WingX showed a 1% year-over-year gain.
Year-to-date private jet flights globally are 1.6% below last year and 2.7% down from 2022’s peak.
Through May 12, 2024, private flying is 32.1% higher than 2019’s pre-Covid levels.
By contrast, scheduled airline flights are 12.0% above 2019 levels.
The U.S. (48,890 flights) saw a 3% week-to-week dip as Week 19 numbers stayed 1% above 2023.
Europe (10,719 flights) saw a 20% gain from the previous week to pull within 1% of last year.
South America’s 2,126 flights were 28% higher year-over-year for the week.

Fractional and charter operators saw a 1% week-to-week increase, with 35,833 flights in Week 19.
That was down 1% year-over-year.
U.S. charter and fractional operators (25,802 segments) were 3% higher than last year despite a 2% drop from Week 18.
European operators (7,533 flights) saw a 19% week-to-week gain but fell 7% short of 2023.

WingX Managing Director Richard Koe says the week was a mixed bag.
He points to “significant weakness in Germany, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, but strength in Texas, Switzerland, and Brazil.”
