Unfriendly skies (and airports) could bump private jet demand

Brawls and other bad behavior at airports and on airliners is encouraging more flyers to consider private aviation.

As airports and airliners once again turn into venues for amateur cage fighters, private jet flight providers could benefit.

54.1% of Private Jet Card Comparisons subscribers considering private aviation say the airport and airline experience motivates them to upgrade.

Headlines from the past several days include:

“Chicago travelers whack each other with ‘wet floor’ signs in wild caught-on-video brawl at O’Hare Airport,” the New York Post reported this evening.

Yesterday, Men’s Journal reported a passenger brought “a large animal on a recent flight that was nearly the size of a horse.”

On Monday, the New York Post gave us, “Vicious brawl breaks out on plane as passenger bites another traveler.”

That’s not it.

KRA4 noted a Hawaii-bound flight from San Jose, California, was diverted to San Francisco International due to a disruptive passenger.

Meanwhile, Fox News added, “Enraged passenger unloads flurry of punches on airport worker, wild video shows.”

However, the top reason for choosing private jet flights instead of airlines (63.9%) is door-to-door time savings compared to airlines.

45.9% of respondents cited more convenient airports than the airlines.

Even if you are flying out of an airport with airline service, private jet flyers use FBOs.

However, time savings compared to a long drive in the car was noted by 37.7%.
