Air Charter Service supports travel needs for 58 rescue cats

While readers of this website probably know Air Charter Service for ad hoc charter flights and jet cards, the broker also works extensively on cargo and humanitarian rescue missions.

Recently, it combined both areas of expertise.

At the end of December, it chartered a Metroliner III aircraft to fly 58 cats.

The felines were all rescued by one woman.

They were flown to a cat sanctuary more than 1,700 miles away.

President Americas Richard Thompson recalls, “She contacted us after speaking to the organization Pilots to the Rescue, which was unable to accommodate so many animals on one flight and referred her to us.”

He continues, “She was personally relocating from Houston to Idaho and wished to relocate 58 cats that she had rescued to their new home there.”

Air Charter Service then went into action.

Thompson says, “We sourced the best and most suitable aircraft for the job which we deemed a Metroliner III.”

The customer then purchased USDA-approved crates and obtained health certificates for each cat.

After that was accomplished, Air Charter Service set up the flight.

Thompson says, “The Metroliner III was perfect as we could place all the cat carriers safely and strap and secure them in place.”

He adds, “We have vast experience in flights with both pets and rescue animals.”

Following a 2018 hurricane in Texas that caused severe damage to many animal rescue centers, Air Charter Service transported 240 homeless cats and dogs to their new home in California.

During COVID-era relocations, a flight with 10 dogs and their owners left Hong Kong for the UK.

A charter with seven dogs, two cats, and their owners also traveled from New York to the UK.
