Global private jet flight activity started the year off relatively slow, remaining relatively flat compared to the start of 2025.
Private jets around the world totaled just over 63,000 departures during the first week of 2026, according to WingX.
Compared to the first week of 2025, global private jet flight activity remained relatively flat.
However, compared to last week, private jets recorded about 5% fewer departures globally.
So far, on a year-over-year basis, the scorecard shows:
According to WingX, private jets recorded 63,296 departures over the first week of 2026.
Over the last four weeks, global private jets have totaled over 281,000 departures, which is a 2% year-over-year increase.
North America remains the largest private jet market in the world, with over 45,000 departures. The bulk of these private jet departures took place in the U.S.
The United States saw a slight increase of about 1% compared to the same time period last year. However, this was also a slight decrease compared to the last week of 2025.
Major markets within the U.S., such as Texas and Florida, saw year-over-year jumps. California was one major market that saw a decrease, recording 2% fewer flights than the first week of 2025.
Additionally, all three major U.S. markets saw week-over-week increases.

Year-over-year success continued into Europe, as the region totaled nearly 6,500 private jet departures.
This was a slight increase of about 3% compared to the first week of 2025. However, this was slightly less than last week.
Several European countries saw year-over-year growth. France, Switzerland, and Italy each recorded year-over-year increases, while the UK and Germany each saw slight year-over-year decreases.
However, major European markets struggled compared to the last week of 2025. Both the UK and Germany saw double-digit week-over-week decreases.
Africa was another continent that had a year-over-year increase, recording 4% more flights than last year.
However, compared to last week, Africa saw a 23% decrease in private jet flights.
The rest of the world struggled to maintain the same volume as the first week of last year. The Middle East saw a 7% decrease, while Asia and South America each recorded an 11% decrease.
While the Middle East saw only a 6% week-over-week decrease, Asia and South America saw significant double-digit declines compared to the last week of 2025.

Global fractional and charter operations remained relatively flat compared to the first week of 2025.
Overall, Part 91K and Part 135 flights recorded over 36,000 departures in the first week of 2026.
However, this was a slight drop of about 3% compared to the last week of 2025.
The United States led the way with nearly 27,000 fractional and charter flights.
That was flat year over year but represented a 3% decrease compared to last week.
Texas and California each saw year-over-year increases, with Texas recording 13% more Part 91K and Part 135 flights than last year.
However, California saw a 7% year-over-year drop. Each of these major markets also saw week-over-week increases.
Europe also saw a year-over-year increase of about 3%. However, this also represents an 8% drop compared to the last week of 2025.
France, Switzerland, and Italy each posted year-over-year growth, while the UK and Germany saw slight declines.
However, each of these major private jet markets saw week-over-week decreases in fractional and charter flights.
Part 91K and Part 135 flights remained relatively flat in the Middle East, both in terms of week-over-week and year-over-year.
Africa, Asia, and South America each saw double-digit week-over-week decreases.
Asia and South America each saw significant year-over-year drops, showing slowing growth in these regions.
