After helping chasers view the latest eclipse, Air Charter Service is already promoting the next opportunity in 2027.
Air Charter Service chartered special flights for solar eclipse chasers to watch the full eclipse from Spain on August 12.
Flights went to Palma, Mallorca, Valladolid, and Zaragoza. Passengers joined local Spaniards in watching the full eclipse along the path of totality.
On August 12, the path of totality began in the Mediterranean and curved northwest, passing through Spain and later Iceland before moving over the Arctic.
The U.K., where Air Charter Service is based, could view a 90% eclipse.
The eclipse lasted about 4.5 hours and passed through several countries.
By contrast, the full eclipse only lasted for an hour and a half. But in each location along the path, the eclipse can only be viewed for a couple of minutes.
“We booked the day return flight more than a year ago,” said Matthew Purton, ACS Group Aviation Service Director, in a press release.
He added, “Knowing that we would be able to help eclipse-chasers, astronomy enthusiasts and photographers get the best view of the first total solar eclipse in continental Europe since 2006.”
Before the eclipse, ACS scouted several locations and chose Valladolid as the main site for chasers to charter a flight due to clear weather and fantastic views.
The August 12 eclipse was the first total solar eclipse visible in Spain since 1905.
Already, ACS is promoting their next eclipse-chasing flight for the Eclipse of the Century, which will take place on August 2, 2027.
