Teterboro held its position as top airport for private jets with a 70% spike in private jet departures in 2021
The 25 busiest U.S. private jet airports got even busier in 2021 as private flights hit record levels. All airports on the list showed a double-digit increase with first place Teterboro Airport flights increasing 70% to 62,537, 171 per day. See the 2020 list here.

Private aviation charter flights in North America are up 10% year-to-date compared to 2019 – and 50% against covid-impacted 2020, according to WingX. In addition, airports in Florida are up 40% in June, compared to 2019.
The busiest private jet airports in 2020 saw drops at 22 of 25, including a 50% drop in flights at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, which remained the busiest private jet airport in the U.S.
Nearly 90% of the busiest private jet airports in the United States saw a drop in departures for COVID-19 ravaged 2020 compared to the full year of 2019.
California, Florida, and Texas each had four of the busiest business aviation airports last year.
There were only modest gains for private jet travel in 2018
with negative growth in the second half of the year, and there was a mixed bag
with the busiest business aviation airports as well. While 13 airports showed
increases in flights, 12 saw decreases. California, Florida and Texas each
placed four airports on the list, Illinois had two and while New York only had
one (Westchester County Airport in White Plains) Teterboro (TEB) Airport across
the Hudson River from Manhattan in fact was the busiest private jet airport.
