JetSmarter's Sergey Petrossov: "We Still Take American Express"

By Doug Gollan, June 7, 2017

Yesterday we published written answers to questions we posed to JetSmarter and were told they were from its CEO Sergey Petrossov. Well, today, we received a few additions and updates we wanted to share with you.

Most interesting is after apparently confirming JetSmarter no longer was accepting American Express, Petrossov tells us, “We do accept American Express if customers want to pay with it, but we prefer Visa (or) Mastercard. This is common amongst jet cards and programs. Most jet card companies don’t accept (American Express). We offer the option (we) just prefer Visa (and) Mastercard.”

Yesterday when I contacted a sales rep from JetSmarter who had been soliciting me, he also said American Express was no longer being accepted. His explanation was that JetSmarter was trying to negotiate better terms.

Yesterday, the answer Private Jet Card Comparisons was provided for attribution to Petrossov stated, ““JetSmarter currently accepts payments through Visa, Mastercard, JCB and Discover, as well as wire, ACH Transfer or personal check. Unfortunately, American Express does not always work with membership model companies.”

The CEO also added to the commentary on its shuttles, although not directly addressing the number of shuttles. “Our shuttle volume year over year is up over 1000% from 2015 to 2016. We believe from 2016 to 2017 our shuttle flight volume will increase by 130%,” he says.

He also clarified helicopter pricing between Manhattan and Westchester County Airport, saying, “Helicopter pricing is dynamic. But some, yes, are sold for $395.”
