Abercrombie & Kent, which has been a key driver in popularizing the private jet tour market, announced a new itinerary for 2018 that ranges from the rainforests and beaches of Nicaragua to the medieval heritage of Georgia. Around the World With Geoffrey Kent: An Inspiring Expedition by Private Jet will take place from Oct. 18 through Nov. 11, 2018 starting in Miami and visiting Emerald Coast, Nicaragua, Patagonia, Chile, Easter Island, Queenstown, New Zealand, Perth, Australia, Kerala, India, Musandam Peninsula, Oman and Tbilisi, Georgia before ending in New York.
“We’ll be circling the world to explore destinations I’ve always wanted to experience in person, as well as a few of my favorites, which we’ll offer up in an entirely new way,” says Geoffrey Kent, the chairman who is a cross between James Bond and Indiana Jones. “I’m particularly looking forward to returning to Oman, where I served while in the British Army,” he adds.
Kent notes, “Every three days we have planned a choice of Design Your Day adventures, from hiking through the rainforests of Nicaragua to taking part in a sailing on the Swan River.”
Kent says the trip allows for a more authentic and intimate journey, filled with invitation-only events, events, including an opportunity to witness a traditional boat race in southern India, as well as a private choral performance in Georgia – all arranged exclusively for A&K guests.
One of A&K’s most experienced Tour Directors orchestrates the journey from start to finish. On the ground, guests are divided into smaller parties of no more than 16, each led by a Tour Manager and assisted by expert local guides who share their personal stories and lend insight beyond any guidebook. A photographer travels with the group to capture professional-quality images, while an onboard physician is available to assist with any medical issues. As part of A&K’s Travelling Bell Boy service, a dedicated Luggage Manager oversees the handling of the luggage between every destination.
Accommodations reflect the character of each destination and offer authentic hospitality with the exclusive use of several properties, including Explora Rapa Nui in Easter Island, an eco-friendly lodge that reflects traditional designs; COMO the Treasury in Australia, a Victorian-era state house turned cutting-edge hotel; and Kumarakom Lake Resort in India, composed of traditionally styled, luxury 16th-century villas.
Dining venues range from the slopes of a dormant volcano to a torch-lit feast on the beach of Easter Island, and an authentic Australian barbecue with a view of the Royal Perth Yacht Club. Kent says, A&K partners with local chefs to showcase the finest ingredients and pair local wines to guarantee top-notch dining in even the most remote locales.
The trip is run with a privately-chartered Icelandair Boeing 757-200ER reconfigured with 50 custom-designed Italian leather seats equipped with personal massage system, four-way adjustable headrests, and lumbar support, that open to fully lie-flat beds 6.5′ long (79” pitch).
Guests enjoy a fully stocked, open bar featuring top-shelf wine and spirits, in addition to first-class meal service that includes personalized espresso drinks. A range of amenities are offered, designed to make guests feel at home, including Bose headphones and iPads loaded with music and movies.
The program is 25 days from $150,000 per person, double occupancy and you can get more details at the company’s website here.
