Wheels Up, which sells pay-as-you-go jet card membership programs, announced today the appointment of Sean McGeough as Executive Vice President heading its corporate sales activities. Wheels Up offers fixed hourly rates and guaranteed availability on its fleet of King Air 350i, Citation Excel/XLS and most recently the Citation X, which now gives it a cross-country nonstop solution.

“We are thrilled to welcome a seasoned aviation executive like Sean McGeough to the Wheels Up team,” said Founder and CEO Kenny Dichter. “Sean’s extensive industry experience and expertise make him an ideal addition to the leadership team to support Wheels Up business objectives.”

An established aircraft sales leader with over $4 billion in closed deals, McGeough previously served as Vice President of North American Sales for Aerion Supersonic where he was part of the team that led the $2.5 Billion As2 fleet sale to Flexjet. During his two years at Aerion Corporation, McGeough fostered new relationships with major corporate flight departments across the United States. Prior to this, McGeough was CEO at Nextant Aerospace. In that role, he oversaw the company’s growth, international expansion, new product launches, operations, and customer support. He also brings international sales experience with Hawker Beechcraft where he had postings in Europe, Africa, and Asia.

“In my experience working with flight departments and companies around the globe, they’re always trying to find ways to maximize their budgets while maintaining safety, reliability, and consistency. What attracted me to Wheels Up was the fact that their safety standards are among the highest in the industry,” said McGeough. “We have created a new vertical for companies—we’re truly an added benefit. We’re not asking them to change what they have or what they are doing today, we’re offering them additional coverage – an option that will enhance the way they travel for business.”

McGeough holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology and is an airline transport pilot (ATP) holding a type rating on the King Air 350i. He is also an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).

On the corporate side, Wheels Up provides turnkey private aviation solution that does not require the ownership of an asset, a long-term agreement or a minimum hours commitment. Wheels Up hourly rates start at $4,495 per hour plus 7.5% FET on the King Air 350i with a 24-hour call-out.
