Private Jet Flight Activity Analysis – 2022 – Week 37

Asia charter and fractional private jet flights are rebounding, up 73% over Week 37 in 2021 and 46% for the past month

Worldwide private jet activity followed last week’s 8% week-to-week gain with a 4% boost in Week 37, which saw 75,437 departures. That’s less than 3,000 flights off the 52-week high set in Week 25 this year.

Globally, private jet flights this week were 7% higher than the same week in 2021.

According to the latest WingX data, private jet flights globally were up 4% for the trailing four weeks.

U.S. flights surge

The U.S., the world’s largest business aviation market, had a strong week as well.

U.S. private jet flights increased 5% week-to-week to 52,679, putting them 10% above 2021’s totals and up 7% during the past month.

On the flip side, European private flights were down 1% to 14,194 for the week, 9% below last year for Week 37. They are 8% lower over the past month.

Looking at the charter and fractional market was a different story.

Global private jet flights for fractional and charter operators inched up 1% week-to-week but were 1% below last year’s record pace.

For the past month, charter and fractional private jet flights worldwide are down 4%.

U.S. charter and fractional departures were up 2% week-to-week and the same compared to Week 37 last year. However, they are down 2% over the trailing four weeks.

For the Week that ended Sept. 18, 2022, Asia private jet charter and fractional flights were 73% higher than last year.

They are also up 46% over the last month.
