Private jet flight activity continues to slide as California, and Florida see double-digit drops over the past month.
Global private jet flight activity dropped 1% week-to-week, with 70,453 departures, according to the latest WingX data.
That was 8% below Week 8 in 2022. For the past month, private jet flights were 4% under last year’s records.
Flights in the U.S. were flat for the week ending Feb. 26, 2023, with 50,872 departures, 8% down from 2022.
Over the trailing four weeks, U.S. private jet flying was 6% lower, based on the number of flights.
Across the busiest U.S. states, Florida (-11%) and California (-13%) were down double digits over the past month compared to last year’s all-time highs.
The 8,935 European flights in Week 8 were down 12% week-to-week and 20% below 2022.
Europe private jet flying is lagging last year by 9% over the past month.
The Middle East (+28%), Asia (+27%), and Africa (+22%) are all booming, with big gains over the trailing four weeks.

Globally, charter and fractional operators saw a 4% dip, with 34,449 flights in Week 8.
That was 17% down from 2022, including a 12% drop during the past month.

The U.S. accounted for 25,536 of those flights, 15% below 2022’s records.
Over the past month, U.S. charter and fractional flights trailed last year by 12%.

In Europe, the 6,080 charter and fractional flights were 29% under 2022 for Week 8 and 18% down for the last month.
However, WingX Managing Director Richard Koe tempers the dreary numbers reminding us, “The downwards slide in bizjet demand is steepening, especially in charter, but there are still comfortable gains compared to 2019.”
