GrandView Aviation’s Director of Maintenance Mike Ruth has received Maryland’s Patriot Award.
The State of Maryland’s Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve has presented GrandView Aviation’s Director of Maintenance, Mike Ruth (pictured center), with its Patriot Award.
The award recognizes supervisors and managers nominated by a National Guard or Reserve service member for outstanding support provided directly to the members, their spouses, and fellow members.
Ruth leads a team of 22 skilled technicians responsible for keeping the charter operator’s fleet of 17 Embraer Phenom 300s.
In addition to on-demand charter and jet cards, GrandView is a leader in organ and transplant missions.
Tuth was nominated by Master Sergeant Timothy Dash (pictured right), who recently retired after 25 years of service in the 175th Wing, Maryland Air National Guard.
Dash is one of GrandView’s A&P Mechanics.
“For 15 years, GrandView Aviation actively has hired and promoted US Military Veterans and Reservists as pilots, positions in operations and quality and maintenance. We recognize and respect their service to our country and staunchly support providing special accommodations for Reserve Member Service while working here, “said Ruth.
“I am very grateful for all the support that Mike extends to me and for always being flexible with my work schedule, especially with drill weekends, additional duty days, and TDYs,” said Dash, continuing, “He has accommodated me and adjusted scheduling accordingly when I am called to duty, as well as helped me when I had family matters to take care of.”
