Private Jet Flight Activity Analysis – 2024 – Week 21

The Grand Prix in Monaco helped boost private jet flight activity in Europe, despite declining for the second year in a row.

Worldwide private jet flight activity (69,461 segments) dropped 5% week-to-week, putting them 2% below 2023’s level for Week 21.

According to the WingX analysis of arrivals in Nice for last weekend’s F1 Grand Prix in Monaco, revenge travel may be ebbing a bit.

Total private jet arrivals fell to 315, down from 344 last year and 412 in 2022.

Likewise, year-to-date private jet flights through May 26 were down 3.5% from 2023 and 4.9% from 2022, although they were up 31.3% from 2019’s pre-pandemic numbers.

Last week, 46,625 private jet flights in the U.S. represented a 10% week-to-week dip, 3% below 2023.

Europe saw a 10% week-to-week gain (12,577 flights), just 1% below last year.

Fractional and charter operators (35,139 segments) were down 4% from the previous week and a similar amount year-over-year.

U.S. numbers (23,806 flights) were down 10% week-to-week and minus 1% year-over-year.

European fractional and charter operators saw a 13% week-to-week increase (8,802 segments) but were 9% less than last year.

In France, private jet flights jumped 30% week-to-week, although 9% down year-over-year.
