New private jet deliveries increased 4.7% in 2024

New private jet deliveries grew to 764 units, the second-best performance since the 767 new private jets delivered in 2010.

According to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), new private jet deliveries increased by 4.7% to 764 units.

Including turboprop and piston aircraft, 3,162 new aircraft were delivered last year, up from 3,069 tails.

Total revenues increased from $23.38 billion to $26.73 billion.

Helicopter shipments generated another $4.45 billion in sales.

GAMA CEO Pete Bunce said, “As we report on the strength of the general aviation manufacturing industry over the past year, it is notable that for the first time in a decade, our companies again exceeded $30 billion in annual billings and for the second year in a row, we shipped more than 4,000 units.”

Bunce added, “This strong performance provides great momentum into 2025, but it is essential that policymakers and regulators on both sides of the Atlantic recognize that for continued growth, they must work with industry on policy issues such as taxes, trade, regulations, and supply chain.”

He noted, “General aviation is at the forefront of advancing technology that makes flying safer and more sustainable while providing efficient and reliable global economic connectivity and air accessibility to rural and small communities that lack commercial airline services.”

Bunce also warned regulators about the adverse impact of poor policy.

“It would be a travesty to see any of this progress halted due to policy decisions that could have unintended consequences for an industry that contributes so much,” he said.

Regarding private jets, 2024 marked the second-best year for new deliveries since the 767 units were delivered in 2010.

That dropped from 874 in 2009, and 1,317, the all-time record in 2008.

2024’s 730 deliveries marked the third-highest total behind 2024.

2019 marked the best year with 809 deliveries.

2024 marked the third-best year ever for private jet flight hours, although it marked a second straight year of declines after the 2022 peak.

Deliveries by OEM
