Private jet deliveries by year from 2015 to 2022, by OEM, and private jet model from Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Cirrus, Dassault, Embraer, Gulfstream, Honda, Pilatus, and Textron

When it comes to private jets, COVID-19 impacted 2020 and saw the delivery of new aircraft drop to 644, the lowest count since 2004. It followed 809 new business jet deliveries in 2019, the best since 874 units in 2009 and 1,317 in 2008. That rebounded to 733 new private jets in 2021.

In terms of new private jets, for 2020, Textron Aviation (131) led the way, followed by Gulfstream Aerospace (127), Bombardier Business Aircraft (114), Embraer Business Jets (86), Cirrus Aircraft (73), Pilatus (41), Dassault Aviation FalconJet (34), Honda Aircraft Company (31), Airbus Corporate Jets (5), and Boeing Business Jets (1).

According to data from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, the Cirrus SF50 VisionJet, with 73 units, was the most delivered private jet in 2020. Its first delivery was only in 2016.

In total, business jets delivered in 2019 had a value of $21.1 billion, just slightly below the $21.9 billion level in 2008. In other words, while units are still well below their Great Recession peak, the value has recovered. Yet, it’s understandable why some in the industry refer to the period as business aviation’s lost decade.
