Briffa, Wells, Lauria expand roles as Dave Harvey departs Wheels Up just over a year after arriving from Southwest Airlines.
Wheels Up announced several immediate senior leadership changes this morning.
Dave Harvey, Chief Commercial Officer, is leaving.
He joined the private jet flight provider from Southwest Airlines as Chief Commercial Officer in May 2024.
He will serve as a senior advisor through August.
Mark Briffa, EVP of Charter and CEO of the Air Partner unit, becomes Chief Sales Officer.
The new role unifies charter and membership sales across the entire company.
Briffa was CEO of the London-based provider before Wheels Up purchased it in 2022.
Meaghan Wells, who joined from Vista Global in November, has been appointed Chief Growth Officer.
She will be responsible for oversight of revenue management, product strategy, and competitive analysis.
Wells will continue to lead fleet and corporate strategy, partnerships, and enterprise planning efforts.
She will oversee the newly formed commercial strategy group, integrating revenue management, product strategy, and competitive analysis, to drive more coordinated, data-driven decisions, according to the announcement.
Chief Marketing Officer Kristen Lauria adds customer experience to her portfolio as part of the move.
Wheels Up CEO George Mattson commented, “These leadership changes are a natural next step in our transformation journey.”
He added, “As we continue to focus our customer-centric strategy around the goal of seamlessly delivering the broadest and most accessible suite of global aviation solutions across our programmatic on fleet and global charter offerings, all aligned with our first-of-its-kind strategic partnership with Delta Air Lines, we expect these organizational changes will help drive our commercial success in the marketplace and long-term growth.”
Speaking of Harvey, Mattson said, “We are grateful to Dave for his significant contributions in shaping and executing our commercial strategy, and we thank him for his leadership during a pivotal phase of our transformation.”
